The town of Teignmouth in south Devon and its smaller neighbour Shaldon nestle in a natural amphitheatre formed by the estuary of the River Teign to the north and south, the low sand bars of the ‘Back Beach’ and the Den to the east, and the majestic granite outcrops of Dartmoor to the west.
I am very fond of painting this locality in watercolours - the sea and shoreline, together with its boats, the buildings, red cliffs and the people who live or holiday in the area.
Many of the paintings and sketches in the gallery section of this site were done around the Teign estuary or nearby coastal locations and further west to Dartmoor.

I submitted one of my watercolours entitled Treasures of the Forest Floor to the SBA Summer Open Exhibition (Plantae’) this year in June and received an award for ‘Exhibiting Excellence’.
I exhibited three paintings at this year’s Dartmoor Artists Summer Open Exhibition

To make a change from land and seascapes I also like painting more unusual subjects particularly relating to food or drink - both of which Devonians are very fond!
Please contact me if you would like a good quality giclee print of any of my watercolours shown on this site. Not all print as well as others but I would be happy to discuss further details if you are interested.
